About Leicester Machine Movers

Leicester Machine Movers Limited were established in 1988 by Richard Evans in Glenfield, Leicestershire running two vehicles amidst the thriving knitting, textiles and footwear industries synonomous with Leicestershire at the time. Transporting machinery from one location to another became more necessary as new businesses were founded or existing ones moved premises and it soon became apparent that there was a need for a specialist handler and haulier of heavy machinery so we moved into new premises with larger storage facilities to accomodate larger machinery and equipment in Leicester City Centre. In 2006 we invested in a larger site and moved to Thringstone as our fleet grew and we had outgrown the Leicester centre site, this gave us more storage and more fleet facilities. This site gave us opportunity to have overhead cranes and a much larger site as well as being closer to the motorway for easy access. We remain a family run company employing over 20 staff based in Leicestershire not far from the M1 for quick access to every part of the UK and beyond.
	Over the past 28 years and throughout the changes that have taken place within the industrial and technological landscape of England, the UK and Europe we have maintained and developed our fleet of vehicles to suit our customers requirements, the scope of projects & loads, health & safety considerations and distances to be travelled.

As the fleet grew we invested in our own on-site garage facility to be built in order to maintain our fleet of vehicles to the highest possible standard. The company has gone from strength to strength since 1988 and we have built a strong reputation based upon reliability, adaptability and professionalism. In 2006 as crane costs were rising we designed trailers that we could winch machine tools weighing up to 30 tonnes to minimise crane usage costs. We also invested in a number of truck-mounted cranes with specialist lifting cages. We also have various 5 metre tail lifts with a lifting capacity of 9 tonnes mounted on rigid vehicles and 13.6 metre articulated trailers. Our staff are trained to a very high standard by accredited internal instructors assuring our customers old and new of an effective, professional and safe standard of service.
